  • Best sights to see between here and Southern California

We are throwing around the idea of driving the kids out to California again for Spring Break to visit Craig's family. We did this 2 years ago and hit:

Carlsbad Caverns, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Disneyland, Hoover Dam and Vegas.

We would like to hit a whole different set of sights this time including camping.

List your favorite sights to see and/or camping spots that are a must.

The second largest ball of twine on the face of the Earth, for sure.

Maybe hit the Grand Canyon if you are up for a little detour.

Meteor Crater and The WigWam Motel, and stand on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. They have an entire intersection dedicated to that song.

Just to add.. My brother has a vacation house in Lake Havasu City, AZ that we would have full access to, and could serve as a base for day trips.

We will most likely be going out on I40, so any route 66 detours are fair game.

I've seen "it" and have driven past it well over a dozen times. Complete waste.
