  • information on disputing something on my credit?

I just received an alert on my credit for something Im sure I never signed up for and I have no idea how they received my ss #. Its for a dumpster service for my business, but I never signed up with them. Only thing I can think is someone who was renting from my forged my signature and somehow got my social which is a lot of hassle.

Anyways, whats the process of disputing this?

    thanks

Call them directly. They have 30 to resolve I believe per news the other night. If no resolve contact the FTC.

I had one come up on my credit report many yrs ago. I called them and wrote them directly certified letter. It was to TansUnion.

They cleared it up 26 days later. I am sure they will call you off and on until its resolved.

But things might have changed on how they work with you these dsys

No clue, but it's a pain the ass to get something not yours off your credit.

But, I am sure they will have to provide a contract of the dumpster service. If they can't I would demand, where they said you signed it and proof

They must provide proof of the validity of the debt, in writing, to you within 30 calendar days of you sending a certified letter to them requesting said evidence.

You can dispute it online then play the waiting game. If u have good credit I don't understand why anyone doesn't lock there credit reports? I've had mine locked over a year. When I need my credit run, I go online and unlock it w/ a pin number. Screw paying all those credit monitoring services. Maybe its not offered in Texas?
