how would you compare the supra tt to the ls3 c6?

granted i know your c6 isn't stock now, but i want to buy another car at some point soon and would be really tempted to buy a mkiv supra if i found a mostly stocker at a reasonable price (i know, oxymoron), but having the vette i can't help but feel like i might have a case of "don't meet your heros" since the supra would basically cost the same money and is a 20 year old design. plus i'd probably have to pay cash as i doubt my CU would finance on a 20 year old toyota!

Lol no, I was computer sales supervisor at the time. I just knew the guys back there and would normally eat lunch with them and it was in there. I was too scared to even sit in the damn thing.

Back in the mid 90's there was a silver Supra that went to the street races at Carter HS that was pretty quick. This was by far the fastest one I ran across.

They are like seeing a Ferrari now days....your breaking your neck to see it.

lol, that is awesome. it was rare back then to run into people who actually knew what they were and that they were pretty fast. seems like the 300zx, nsx, and rx7's were much more well known back then.

Depends what you want.. on pump gas dont expect more than 400ish rwhp from a FULL BPU++ supra.. those who do make more.. its dyno tricks and on the streat it will pull timing.. i had a Carb spring hooked to my waste gate actuator and would jump to 24-26# and on race gas the car would make at most 480 i would guess( never dynoed more than 440.. clutch wouldnt hold on the dyno).

i liked racing my supra but hated driving it.. want to pass some one? have to drop 3 gears to make Tq.

The vette IMO has 20 years newere tech, and while it is a chevy, with headers and CAI i made 430 rwhp and it was fun to drive.

IMO if you want 1000+ .. supra.... just a bolt on fun car to tool around in.. C6.

thanks, i've built them up in my head for so long that i know i'd be disappointed even though they are really special cars. i'll probably just pick up a newer 3 series and throw a few mod's at the vette. i've just always felt the same way about the supra as a lot of folks do about ar15s (post newtown), like time is running out on getting one (in the case of the supra a non-whored out clean one), but it might be best left as a fantasy.

honestly.. if you love supras.. buy one.. but for a low HP daily.. there are MUCH better cars.. and for a drag car.. i would build a fox or a 4th gen.

Yeah the 300ZX was the big thing, but they didnt do much for me. I've always been a jeep geek but the Supra was a car that was drool worthy.

That lineup of cars sounds like the street races in the north bay CA.
Being a regular, I got to see all those cars get shit on routinely by a green
                        sn95. They were awesome though.

i def. don't need another drag car.

meh, it'd have to be a crazy deal i think for me to pull the trigger on one.

on a side note, does anyone still run the blitz technospeed z1's anymore? i'm sure i'm biased since i loved that car and they could quite possibly be an ugly wheel and i just can't see it, but man i used to love these wheels.

if i remember right they were stupid expensive for wheels (at least back then before expensive wheels were the norm)

my buddies older brother bought a 94' supra brand new and he sold it a few years ago for $25k and it had over 150,000 miles on it! good investment...
