Booked on Expedia for just under $1000 for 4 nights, direct flight on American, and two free shows tickets (chose Beatles Love). We are planning on doing SkyJump at the Stratosphere the 2nd night there. http://www.stratospherehotel.com/Tower/Rides/SkyJump
Where's Vdara? Sounds familiar but not sure what where it is.

I bet the view is cool as shit.

We also stayed at the Aria. Super nice place but probably the most boring casino we went to.... I prefer NY NY casino for entertainment while gambling... but the rooms are at the Aria are super nice

DO go down town and see the freemont experience (you just stand in the street and look up)

It's the sister hotel to the Aria in City Center.

We stayed at the Vdara. Vdara is nice, but there's no Casino. You have to take the walkway next door. Oh yeah and the pool sucks if you get hit by the Death Ray. Wear sunscreen.

No casino was the point for us. Neither of us are gamblers so avoiding a long walk through a smoky casino was a plus. I was at the pool with a friend staying there about 2 years ago and you are right about the death ray! Felt like a french fry sitting to close to the heat lamp at the local fast food joint.

I got hit bad by it and learned about it after we got back. It's apparently famous. lol

Cosmo is pimpy (never been to Aria), Monte Carlo is great on price, you don't get lost in the casino an it's across the street from Caesars, which is bad ass. Never needed a rent car, but I have driven there before. For a quick trip, flying is fine. Anything more than 3 nights is too long though. If you do it right anyway... you'll want to come home and dry out after 3 nights. I always do.

We figured out pretty quick that you can even turn off the lights in the bathroom with that remote. lol The shower was pretty awesome too.

Also if you do stay at Aria anytime you take something out of the fridge for more than 30sec it knows it and charges you automatically. Every little bottle of liquor, red bull, snack etc has some kind of chip in it.

I booked a flight out of San Antonio round trip for $238 through Southwest. I'll be heading out there at the end of May. I'm cheap & booked a room at The Excalibur for $268 for 4 nights (Thursday-Sunday). A friend & I are splitting the room so got my flight & hotel for under $400.

Bellagio was a nice stay. Beyond the gambling, which is almost everywhere even at your breakfast
table, as you pass by and visit diffent places note the deals and times of shows.
It will benefit you to plan and schedule. You can catch 2-4 shows paid and unpaid every evening.
Bills was the best value eats that I found, when I went. Good to try, but don't eat there too many
                                times, check out other places.

When I talk to people who have been to Vegas, almost no one says they saw any shows.
You could do vegas without the shows but you would be missing out.
I found the paid shows to be top notch, and all of the free shows were worth seeing, as long as
you didn't have to go out of your way(hence planning).
There's so many, you need to schedule them. It's convenient to travel by walking, but everything
is much farther away than it seems. If you walk in Vegas, best to get in lots of exercise walking
before you go to Vegas. Bring comfortable shoes.
Everyone goes to the clubs, and I think 75% of them are "private", but it's not too difficult to get
                                into most of them.
Chat it up with your concierge often, you might be surprised.

I had rich food all day every day, travelled on foot, and still lost 12 lbs by the time I got back home.
I think it was the generally low carb meals, and all the walking walking walking.
