1st time to Vegas. What, where, how...

I've never been to Vegas, and neither has my wife. We were talking last night and decided we should go on a little vacation for 3 or 4 days.

I think we will probably go mid-end April.

So, give me some dos and don'ts. Where to stay (or not to), etc.

Also, if anyone knows of an package deals on any of those "deal a day" sites, please let me know.

I want to drive, she wants to fly. We'll see how that goes.

Flying is the only way to go. The wife and I went a few months ago and we got a great deal on a package deal. Got the flights, 5 nights at New York New York, mustang convertible rental car, and they kicked in 2 free show tickets to zumanity for $900 total.

IMO the bellagio has the best casino, My wife and I just booked 3 nights there for $1300. It includes round trip air and rental car.

I disagree, the Cosmopolitan is one of the best casinos and has the best night club.

Yeah, I thought about searching, but figured that things change so often out there that new info would be better than year or two old stuff.

Anyone have any opinions on the Trump, or Wynn?

Do you prefer on the strip, or just off (like Trump)?

Stay at the Aria.

Second that, I stayed there last time and it was a pretty sweet hotel. If the pool parties are open in April hit up Wet Republic at MGM, be sure you wear your sunglasses if you're with your wife, because the scenery walking around is ridiculous.

The PBR restaurant at Planet Hollywood had a decent breakfast and you can sit on the patio and people watch, which is always entertaining in Vegas

The aria and cosmopolitan are very nice and have great casinos. Both are new with aria being a year newer. Bellagio had an ok casino, seemed like an older crowd so want there too long. Planet Hollywood has good take games with the pleasure pit. The palms is nothing special but has noticeably better paying slots ( they advertise looser slots).

I've been 6 times now and never had a rental car. I usually stick to the strip and do Fremont street every other year. Buses go wherever and when I venture of the strip I'll take a taxi.

We always stay at the Flamingo because it's cheap and right in the middle of the strip, that way you can walk one direction one day and the other another day. Also visit downtown because that's vintage vegas.
