Very true...the DFW area, $70k is good to me. Houses are affordable, gas is cheap compared to the rest of the nation, etc. I guess like sc281 says it is all relative to your expenses.

I have definitely found the more I make, the more I spend which leaves me about where I was.

I find it more interesting that people dont think teh OP will make enough money. He isnt shy to say that making $19/hr is $10/hr more than he makes now. For people to try and belittle him or act like they are better because they make more is crazy. Greenville expenses Im sure are less than they are here in DFW. To top it off, he is surviving. $10/hr raise would be a great leap for him.

I am not sure if I got it or not. I feel the interview went really well. Now it is a waiting game

It continues too, ala keeping up with the Jones'.

I think once it gets to a point and you're not one of those "gottahaveit!!!" types, you'll find a plateau on spending and be able to save more. I also believe once i have paid back my student loans and get out of a state taking 9% of my money, i will be in a better place financially.

Hopefully you gave him a good "Tommy Boy" close on why he should hire you.

Don't know if it's your style or not, but i've had good luck/success sending brief thank you notes to the interviewing party the day after. it's a good way to keep your name fresh on their minds.

Id say good money is $40k+ and GOOD money would be $70k+
You think there are very few here who make $70k a year?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I'm betting it's a low percentage. We'll never know. I DO know that my daughter is close to that less than two years out of school...and to think all the shit I took about people saying McCombs wasn't "worth it".

Yes, I doubt there are really that many. There are lots of people here that drive hoopties, are not educated, come across as morons, etc. I do not think that DFWM has some radical plethora of people that make over $70k a year compared to the rest of the US.

I wouldnt say people are telling him makin 40K isn't enough as a person, they're speaking relative to the job. He did ask for help with the financial side of the offer after all.

As far as the other good vs GOOD...that's all relative. I make pretty decent money but am stupidly good at blowing it as well. That's why I say GOOD money is so high.

I did that after the first interview via email. I will send a handwritten one out tomorrow. As for those offering help, send me what you have!

I think if the real check stubs were rolled out, a very small percentage of this site makes over that.
