I guess I will continue to update this to chronicle the journey. I was surprised at my career meeting a month and a half ago by the VP saying they were going to give me a 6 month salary review. Since then I have been placed in a neighborhood we are trying to close out of to learn and help relieve some of the load from the builder. With that, I was given my first 5 houses to build.

My salary review happened today. They have changed my job title from Warranty Service Manager to Constructon Manager 1 (essentially assistant or in training)

Awesome, moving in the right direction. Then they tell me with that comes a salary bump to $40,000/year. So in 6 months I have been promoted and received a $4000 raise!

This has come up a couple of times this week and figured I would update this.

I just passed my 5 month anniversary and things are going great. I was handed my first 4 houses to build this week with a 5th coming in the next month. The original time table to move me to builder was about 12 months I think. I am still handling warranty calls as well. I had a career meeting with the VP and area manager late last month. They gave me a couple of welcome surprises. Changing my milahe reimbursement (a flat $250) from quarterly to monthly. They also added a 6 month salary review. An annual was all that was discussed when I was hired.

If I am building full time next year (carrying 12-18 houses), I should about double my starting salary.

I also was told by the 401k plan administrator that I am fully vested in my Cavender's 401k. Not much but $1500 to roll over after a year and a half at low pay isn't bad.
