  • R.I.P. Paul Zazarine

He wrote a shit-ton of musclecar articles throughout the years, and a big name in the Pontiac forums/collectors/etc.

I had heard the name and saw him on some shows on the Speed channel, my Dad actually had a closer connection with him and I thought I'd share this email my Dad sent me when I sent my Dad this same link:

    Hey,

I went to high school a few miles away from where Paul attended Crossland
HS in Temple Hills in Prince George's County.. I used to go to the 'then'
"brand new" Prince George's County Raceway (finished in 1966 I think) on
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, depending on my work schedule. Paul graduated
from CHS in 1970 so he was a few years behind me (LaPlata HS 1967). I
never crossed paths with him but I saw some familiar names in a post on
this site. There was a lot of muscle car action going on in that area
and is an explanation for how I developed my interest in cars, really.
Some of the major key words of the era for that place were Marlow Heights,
Capitol Raceway, Aquasco, The Beltway, Marlboro, Mechanicsville. It was
a kind of car centric sort of area that was neat for a young male..
Sucks BIG TIME today... Which is why he was in Clear Water, FL.

    RIP Paul.

    Later,

    Mike Blansett
