  • Home insurance, Need a deal.

My house insurance went from 1241 to 14xx to 17xx in the past 3 years. No claims.

Who do y'all use? I have state farm, and nationwide gave me a similar quote.

My house is only worth $115k and I think that's ridiculous.

    Thanks.

I just dumped State Farm too...

Here's the broker I chose... Ryan Brown @ TWG in Irving, 214-838-5427 was able to shop several companies for me and did a good job handling the transfer... plus he'll answer the phone when you call.

Give him a try... doesn't cost a thing to get the quote.

            Wow, you are getting raped!

I use Farmers and have a great policy for both autos and home, the agent is highly responsive.

I switch to Germania from Farmers and saved quite a bit.

I was pissed at Farmers for the way they wanted to handle my claim when my house was broken into. I had a bunch of electronics stolen and their policy is that I had 1 year to buy all that shit and submit for reimbursement. The idea of getting your life/house back as if nothing happened is not in their policy so they refused to just write a check so I can go out and replace all the stolen stuff.

Fuck Farmers! Especially Angela Giessner in Grand Prairie. I paid their high premiums every month for over decade and the moment I need them, that's the type of help I get.

Call Amica and get a quote. I used to have State Farm as well and got tired of their prices. I switched everything to Amica and have been very happy with them. Have had to make a couple of car claims since the switch and they've been great.

Most companies right now are raising rates due to all of the natural disasters we've had in the past 3-5 years. Only luck you'll find is maybe finding a smaller company that doesn't have exposure on the coasts or out east who isn't hurting for money.

i second amica, both our car and house are through them. our house is more than double the OP's and its 1400 to insure. Plus with amica, you're a shareholder and get a check once a year. I think we got a $225 check this year.

Mine went up $80 this year. After seeing what some of yall are paying I'm still getting a deal. My agent claimed it had alot to do with the fires down in Bastrop.

Fires in Bastrop, hail in North Texas, tornadoes in Arlington, yada, yada, yada. It's always something.

Just did the quote thingy on amica's website, and it was decent. $118x.xx after dividend, but that is with the car discount and they wanna charge $100/ month for bare bones liability with uninsured motorist.....

Does anyone know of bare bones car insurance? I'm lookin for deals here!!
