My guess is no comprehensive coverage, otherwise this would be the insurance companies problem (their property).

I can't see charging $2300 to get back a stripped bike.

I wished the OP would post his pics.

Whoever stole the bike put a donut on the front forks and used a piece of all thread to keep it in place.

I don't think Paul will mind me posting a few pics.

The bike is in bad shape. This bike has been through a lot of shit, but this is the worst.

btw, is that a cut off wheel used as a washer on the front wheel??? wtf???

Was it wrecked or chopped up? If it was wrecked I hope the person who stole it was on it when it went down. Fuck, it's not even my bike and it makes me mad.

looks like Jason posted up most the pics I took since I hadn't gotten to it yet.
Yes, it was stripped down and not wrecked. may have been knocked over on the left side looking at the lever. Looks like they just hadn't gotten down to the motor yet before it was picked up. looks like they rode it some since the crash bar and and a couple other pieces were painted white.
No idea what kind of condition the motor is in. it's sitting wide open since various parts were taken off and it's been sitting out in the weather. Frame and swing arm are unhurt forks were straight.
Sad thing is this person didn't even know that entire body/gas tank was brand new and a limited edition Yamaha set I bought seperately, that could coulda stripped and sold as a whole.

Sad how I was about to sell this bike for $4K to a friend and this thief prob made a minimum of a couple hundred dollars, if even that. Pisses me off.

So, should I even bother with getting it out of there? Only reason to would be if someone might want to buy it as a whole or any parts (hardly any there). Gonna call back there and ask if the fees would go to collections if I decided not to take it like they did at another tow yard where something in my name was never picked up. Would be like $180-$200 to pick up.

Shit, for $200 I would pick it up and part it out. You've got lots of sellable parts still there.

It's sad. I have no other words for a bike stripped like that.

not knowing how much parts are for that thing, I would walk away.

I dunno, can you clear say $700 in parts? Thats a $500 profit after you pay the impound.
