I'm the opposite. I've always said that people who are die hard loyal Texans have never experienced the greatness of other states and cities. It's so dull here. I'd take anything in the northeast over here, hell I'd take Seattle, San Fran, Denver, etc etc. But I've grown to like it here, and the cost of living kicks the SHIT out of anywhere else in the country right now. To each their own right? I didn't grow up here, and I'd move if it was feasible. But Texas is pretty cool in its own right. I just prefer nature, seasons, and cool cities. Not flat land, 100 degree summers, and fair weather sports fans.

I've lived in California, Washington and Colorado, among other places. While I will not say that other places I have lived did not have their positives, when taken as a whole, I prefer Texas.

As a side note, I do love Colorado, but fuck a bunch of Denver. That is the one place in Colorado I would NEVER live.

Well, technically only my Mother's side, and 2 of my 3 brothers live there. My dad's family, and the other brother live in WA. Also, in all fairness, my family is in SoCal and not the Bay area. I have only visited and passed though.

All my preferences had zero to do with anything political. I've been to those places and liked the cities. Nothing more than that.

I did not assume so, which is why I did not accuse you of that. I was pointing it out because I would not want to live in a city that liberal. Same reason I prefer Tarrant County to Dallas County.

I would highly suggest a person do as much traveling as possible to grow as person, experience different perspectives, and see everything the world has to offer.
