All I can remember is when i was a kid with my first car, by the time I put gas in it , it was rough affording a date or anything else for that matter. Just trying to give him a step up. Gas and insurance is the biggest hit now days.

Right now he is 14. But by this time next year (15), I pla on having a car for him. He wanted a 2010 Camaro or Mustang. Just trying to stay away from that.

Get a jeep, they are fairly cheap and get good gas mileage.. I mean hell it's probably going to end up wrecked anyhow..

I'd say a 97'-01 Taurus.. cheap- plenty in the boneyard for parts and still not too bad gas milage..

If he wants a 2010 Mustang or Camaro, he can buy one himself IMO.

What is a continously variable transmission?
Definition: transmission with parts consisting of unobtainium, and mostly made up of glass like structures.

So they know if they mess up in school or driving the nice car is history and they are stuck with the POS.
I like this. I'll never have kids but I am going to tell this to my uncle who has a 15 yr old.

Doesn't have fixed gears, produces infinite # of eng-wheel speed ratios. "supposedly" more fuel efficient. Heard alot of folks don't like b/c it feels like a slipping trans. IMO probably a POS!
