I don't know anything about wine really, but I do enjoy reds and have tried lots of them.

Based on trial and error I've found me a cheap go to Red.

Cellar NO.8 Pinot Noir, their Cab taste good as well. It is usually $8-12, I get it at HEB for $8 and if you buy 6 bottles of wine at once they take 10% off of them so $7.20 for tasty buzz with a decent steak is good by me.

seems to get good reviews, the bottles I have right now are 2011

Nice choice. The wife and I went to their crush party last year in Napa and had more bottles shipped home than I care to admit.

Malbecs are my favorite. Red Zin and blends come in second. Cabs would be my third choice. Merlot and Chianti are down there with white and blush wines.

Eric, try anything by AZ Stronghold. Merkin Vineyards - Chupacabra is the fucking shit. Caduceus wines are the shit as well, but pricey. All owned by Maynard James Keenan. They don't have the history of some others, but I really, really like their wines.

There are so many wines out there that I enjoy. I don't drink wine as often as I should though, mainly when I'm cooking for the bitches.

Wine is a pain in the ass because there are so many goddamned options.

I'm big on cabs. Decoy is my go to; decently priced, very good. The Baron de Rothschild Cab is also good for the money.

Just go drink shit, though, it's really the only way with wine. There's plenty of good shit to drink in the $25-50/bottle range, but you'll still run into a lot of mediocre/bad wine there too. The internet is your friend.

Try the Orange Jubilee by Mogen David vintage 2013. It's divine.

My absolutely favorite is Stag's Leap Artemis (Cab Sauv) but it's about a $30 bottle. It's not an everyday, but if you are having a meal worthy of a good wine it's spectacular.

Stag's Leap is very good as is Frog's Leap Cab. They're along the same priceline. If I'm cooking a nice meal, I'm having nice wine. I prefer Cab. That being said, I keep several bottles of "table wine" at the house for when people are over and just want wine. I've found the Ménage à Trois red blend to be as good as any around for the dollar. I picked up 3 more bottles at Costco last night for like $7.49. I bought a bottle of their Pinot Noir the other day too, and the wife liked it (she prefers Pinot Noir to Cab).
