The wife and I decided to go to La valentines weekend, was wondering what's fun to do...

Already plan on hitting up the aquariun/zoo in NO, maybe a swampboat ride/tour....maybe feed the wife to a gator...

Any other suggestions? (besides gambling)

You should be ok, really. Mardi Gras ends when Ash Wednesday begins. All the major parades and everything lead up to Mardi Gras, they don't really follow it. There may be some tourista shit going on for it though, through the weekend. If you can, get a room at the Royal Sonesta.

Amazingly shitty roads and don't get pulled over (this goes for louisianna as a whole), the homeless all have a racket to get money from you. Check out the homeless church off bourbon, my old co-worker is the pastor and cool car guy and person.

Don't be afraid to ask the hotel concierge, though. They make it a point to know where the best spots are, and they make sure to send you to a safe area.

I grew up down there. Unless you want to be apart of the decadence that is the whole week of Mardi Gras, stay away! Most locals do not go near the Quarter. JMHO
