This right here. Although at times it may seem petty, if you feel threatened or that you are being harassed, file a report. I filed a report 6 years ago, an ex's boyfriend was calling and threatening me, showed up at my place of work, etc. I filed a report on the incident. 5 years later, she used that report to get sole custody of her kids, and he will more than likely end up in jail.

That paper trail more often than not will establish the case needed.
