I one time gave my Corgi one of those plastic wrapped/meat bones and he went ape shit crazy as if he were in the wild. Had to keep him outside for several hours because he pooped and pissed in the house.

I have always read that cooked bones of any type are bad for dogs, so I never give them to ours. Only treats / rawhide / pig ears, and stuff like that. Not worth the risk of them getting their digestive track all torn up, IMO.

My dog doesn't eat anything other than dog food.

Same with ours for the most part. Other than an occasional dog treat. Like less than once a week.

The Deer antlers are a godsend. they last 6 months at a time min and the dogs carry them around everywhere. I've got two cow femurs right now - cut into 6in lengths they they got nuts with.

I used to to the pigs ears (made the house smell like bacon) but those got messy. I bought a flat rib bone from the feed store, looked like an airplane wing - but once that thing started to splinter off long thin chunks i pitched it.

When I got back from Bakers or another rib joint, I used to give them the rib bones with some meat still on them - those tended to be soft and chewable. i never gave chicken bones for the splintering reason.
