As many of you know, my daughter (8) was diagnosed in July 2012 with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. At that time, she had significant bone loss in her left hand (2 bones have dissolved and 3 others were partially gone) and was unable to move her wrist much at all. Since the diagnosis, I have been giving her Enbrel injections twice a week, taken her to a chiropractic specialist to massage her joints and have many doctors appointments. She has regained full use of her left wrist and has begun to rebuild the muscles on the left side of her body.
Earlier this month, we went to a checkup at her Rheumatologist's office and she said Aly is responding beautifully to the medication and we can go down to once a week injections. YAY! We go back in March for an MRI and if she has no further bone loss, we can discontinue the injections and she will be considered in remission.
Well, I just joined the Arthritis Walk 2013 in Tarrant County at Tarrant County College on April 27th. It's either a 1 mile or 3 mile walk and you can bring your dogs! We would love for you to join our team (Craig and I, plus our kids and dogs will be walking) or if you aren't the walking type and would still like to help-feel free to donate to the Arthritis Foundation to help in research and development! Thanks for your help guys and please pm me if you have any specific questions! <3 ya!
