  • Layne Staley's Trans Am will be up for sale

I thought a few board members might be interested to hear that Layne Staley's 2000 WS6 was going to be sold.

Layne Staley's Car Up For Sale To Fans

The sportscar once owned by tragic Alice In Chains singer Layne Staley has been put up for sale.

The group's longtime roadie, Tavis, is selling the vehicle and he's offering fans the chance to buy the tragic star's black 2000 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Ws6 car ahead of prospective motor enthusiasts.

In a post on the band's official forum, he writes, "I have worked for Aic for a long while. Some of you already know me. Layne's estate asked me if I would sell his car for them and I of course said I would.

"We wanted to give you fine folks first option on purchasing the car being (sic) it would actually mean something more to you than a non-fan."

It is not clear what the asking price for Staley's car will be.

Damn, nice car. I've always had a soft spot for the WS6, even with the kitchen table dash that I hate, I'd still own one.

I had a non-ws6 trans am and loved that thing. Got a divorce, ex wife trashed it out and rear ended someone and I had to sell it. Working under the hood sucked though. Never knew what the back of the motor looked like.

Yeah they are a bitch. And if you're a big/tall dude it sucks because you have to practically lay down in the damn thing so you don't smash your head on the roof.

id own one, but at the time i hated the inside of them. I liked how they looked over the z28's.

The lt1 nose is still my favorite.

Im the polar opposite. Thought the round theme of the firebirds interior was much better than the rectangular them of the camaro's and the LT1 front ends was yack, 98-02 trans am front end was my favorite.

WTF is up with them refering to him as " tragic "?
What the hell is a tragic star? Rock star, awesome front man, great singer any of those would better describe him that tragic.

Tragic maybe because of his struggle with heroin channeled through his lyrics and eventually his sad death of being nothing but skin and bones and alone.
                          RIP Layne.
