Anyone have any experience with the holley TBI EFI?

Found a used setup that seems resonable, its the bolt in place of your carb TBI style, with the upraded controler.

Not looking for the maximum power, but more for the fact that the car sits without being driven for weeks at a time, and they are supposed to stay a but "cleaner" than a carb, with the added benefit of not making the garage smell like fuel for a few days after driving.

Ive done some googling, and mixed results seems common. To be fair, mixed results come up when googling holley vs edelbrock carbs too.

Are you talking about EZ EFI? That's the only thing I have experience with. My Dad has an old Holley 2bbl TBI unit on his daily driver beater and loves fucking with it trying to maximize MPG. He does have occasional cold start-up issues with it, but I've never really messed with it, so I couldn't tell you what all he has done.

Hot Rod or Car Craft did a write up on it (I think on a Chevy II, IIRC) and liked it as well as MPG increase as it learns. If I had a carbed car, I would definitely try it!

Im generally leary of mag write ups, but mpg increases seem to be a common plus they all say. I found one that was actually talking down about the install, but were able to get it working well after a bit of tuning and figuring out what was the issue.

I think I'm going to give it a try, it cant be any worse than trying to tune in a holley...

Check to make sure how old it is.

Holley stuff before their new series is pretty shitty and very very basic.

Their newer stuff Avenger / HP / Dominator ECUs are pretty decent.

I would look at the MSD Atomic or FAST EZ Efi - If you want a basic plug and play / self learning carb replacement.

Well, I guess this all for nothing, it is sold already. Pretty good deal, if it was the newer stuff.

I have one of the older systems, like pictured below. I haven't used it on anything, but it was super cheap and I really wanted it for the TBI. I figured I'd install it and if it turned out to be crap I would install a Megasquirt controller.

I read an install on that one, 66 289 mustang. Gained 30ish hp and went from 13mpg to 20 mpg.
