  • New F150 need a few things

Ok not new. But new to me. I recently sold my 82 coupe to find a truck and something newer. Well after many hours each day for several days driving through DFW and enduring the shithole i call Dallas, I found this by chance. My buddy Toby and I were out starting another day driving around hitting up CL posters when I pulled up CL on my phone to get our first pick of the day. This pickup popped up. It was in NRH and had been posted less then an hour ago. Skeptical from all the other ads (dooshbag assholes who can't advertise the truth or leave out pertinent info; I know, but have some integrity people), we went over after eating lunch. We pull up and it's sitting there. Shined up all purdy like.
Ok cool. Looks good on the outside. Bet it drives like shit. Runs like shit. Etc. the owner is a female who tells up the trucks story while we finger eff the interior and undercarriage. It has been with her for at least 10 years. He first husband bought it back in the early 2000's from a dealership. Owned it till he died 3 years ago. Wife took over the title and later married her current husband. Since they owned it, they have had other cars/trucks, so it just sat. For instance, the last oil change was due at 175k miles or on 1/17/12... This thing still had almost 2k left.

1997 F150 ext cab XLT 4x4 with a camper top. 173k miles. Well I was wrong finally! Woohoo! Drives like new with no steering slack, no sluggish acceleration, no delayed start up. It shifts flawlessly, runs with awesome oil pressure and temp; I can't find one thing wrong. Pulled into a parking lot onthe test drive and ran her through the 2WD/4LO/4HI without a hiccup. returned to their house and promptly made an offer and bouht it. Well I paid a small amount for it and thought I did very well. Now on to what I needs (not needs, just be nice to have).

    1. New door speakers. The driver door is blown (no sound what so ever). So I need whatever will fit. Not a "system" guy so I don't give a shit about what they are as long as there good. Unsure what size to look for. Again, don't know ANYTHING about speakers...
    2. 6 disc CD cassette thing. The PO asked me to look at something and see if i knew what it was. This is after I bought it. He points to the back driver side door map pocket thingy. It was a factory ford 6 disc CD changer. It was still working and all but missing the cassette deal that holds the CDs. I pushed the "eje t" button and it made its ejection hum for a few seconds and stopped. Definitely still works. Just need the cassette or "magazine". Anyone?
    3. Anyone got the tint hook up? Not tinted. Stock stock! Would love darkest legal tint. Just the back, rear half windows, and front side windows.

That's it. It's all cosmetic or "want stuff". Nothing major. I'm glad u were able to share this thread with me. Since it was so invigorating and exciting.

That place on 377 by the CPA does good tint work for a decent price. Can't think of the name right now though.
