Really? I haven't stepped foot on one in years but they required DL and insurance before the car left the lot then.

It's illegal to require a driver's license to purchase or finance a vehicle due to discrimination. Occasionally you will have disabled people who cannot drive purchase a vehicle with the sole purpose for another person to drive them in it. Note lots (mostly mexican based) exploit this to suggest illegal immigrants can purchase vehicles. The same way insurance companies (like a-max for instance) have huge signs saying no drivers license is required for insurance. It's the same loophole they exploit.

Who cares. I don't see the need for a state issued DL anyway when it is the private insurance companies whose ass is on the line. DLs should be issued by the insurers and I believe that they would require a much harder test based on real driving skills instead or the test that the state gives.

I never said that a person needs a license to own a car, I questioned the logic of a car lot financing to an owner that was not licensed.

They probably want close to 10k for that jeep. When I was looking at new edges, from those lots they were all way up there in price.
