Financing at any other dealers than the two I use always rub me the wrong way. I love agreeing on a price and handing them a check.

I agree and two of the people I sent said the same. I have done 6 new car deals in the past two years.

To clarify the Finance office process:

            1. Yes they are there to provide profit to the dealership. This is nothing we don't know.

            2. All of the options provided by them are just that, Optional.

            3. In order to stay compliant, if we offer the product or service to one customer, it has to be offered to all.

We try to streamline things as much as we can, but with the volume we do(because of our kick ass pricing) sometimes we do get backed up and we have outgrown our current facility. For those of you who don't know, we are building all new Ford and Lincoln facilities next door with seperate service drives and seperate finance offices to try and help out with the extended wait times. I look forward to continuing to service the DFWMustangs community with the best car deals around for a long time to come. See you guys soon!!!!!!

I would still suggest scaling it back a tad bit. It was pretty obvious that some old school tactics were used. Yalls call, but it would only help repeat business.

                Man, are they that bad?

I know that all dealers are doing that now a days, like Skip said they are just trying to make money, but if they are being instructed to be obnoxious like the old days, thats just plain fucked up.
Bankston had a few things to offer my daughter on her Ford purchase and I knew they would I just told her to deny their schtick politly. Hell they tried to sell me and I told them not to bother I'm here for the car only, but thanks for asking and that was it.

Again skip and josh are great, even as busy as they are. But yes it's the old school tactics of one finance guy getting the manager after you decline the first time to try and sell you the same stuff but somehow cheaper...while neglecting to mention they added 3-6 more months on to your payments. It undoes all the work skip and josh put into the process.

I just tell the financing guys to tell what what each item is (briefly) then where to sign that I'm declining. I tell them up front I'll be declining all the offers, but I understand they have to do it ... if they don't respect that I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Works pretty damned good in my experience.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

This thread reminds me of why I try to only buy from individuals.
