Pricing - economy plane tickets to Italy

Looking at going to Italy this year and wanted to check plane ticket pricing. Right now its around $950 round trip, don't know if this is a good price or we should wait a bit longer.

We flew American into Gatwick (on the way to Rome), and it was the worst flight of my life. British Airways was awesome, but it was a short flight. If you can fly Business or First Class somehow, I highly recommend it.

$950 doesn't sound all that bad, it cost me about that to fly from Sacramento to DFW Christmas before last. Granted, that the good ol' holiday season anal raping prices, but transatlantic round-trip for under a grand seems reasonable.

If you can get it for less though, more power to you.

Have you checked multiple airlines?

Most will have the option to see what the cost is on different days. It usually fluctuates a bit but not much. Also, not sure when you plan on booking this but booking as soon as possible should yield much cheaper than right before.

With that being said, $950 doesn't sound horrible at all.

We have checked multiple airlines, business or first class is 4-5 thousand each, I would rather spend that money when I am there. Believe we will be flying into Rome.

I've never tried it, as I usually only travel for business and we have to use an internal site.

For $950 each person. From my experience is an awesome deal. Try flying on a Tuesday or Wednesday for a cheap flight. I fly to London for $859 on British airlines most of the time. Which is the best non stop flight from dfw. Try to see if Iberia flies from dfw to Rome.
