I know exactly how you feel and was in the same spot with my son, except we liked our ENT. His doctor went ahead and did adenoids and a second set of tubes at the same time, so it's not much more traumatic. After that procedure he finally got better and has pretty much been sick free since. We do give him Singular as well during the high allergy times. As much as it sucks, if she's still getting sick with tubes I'd say go ahead and seriously consider the adenoids.

BTW - we live in Rockwall, so way to far to come to our ENT.

How was your son after that surgery? How old was he?

x2... we work with Dr Mullins at work and he is great. One of the few doctors that doesnt mind coming to the hospital in the middle of the night.

Dr. Murray, he did my 3 yr olds tubes and tonsils this past year and he was great with the kiddo and very nice. only issue is plan on waiting past your appointment time, he gets busy and tends to talk a lot, which is good because he explains everything in detail to you. Highly recommend him.

I actually made an appointment there. Just got off the phone with them. They are doing another hearing test and will examine her ears again on the 20th.

He had the surgery in April last year, so he was 22 months. They had to use stronger anesthesia, so it was a little longer recovery time - I think we waited ~2 hours after the surgery before leaving. The doctor also took a real good culture while he was out to make sure there was no deep rooted sinus infection we just hadn't been able to get rid of. He's only been sick once since then, and that was the RSV that seems to be going around that you can't do much for.

Dr John Shea is my moms ENT and he is AWESOME!!!

He also has a hearing specialist on his staff, and if you have no insurance he accepts care-credit which is like a medical credit card that charges no interest for 12 months on anything you have put on the card

What about after the anesthesia wore of. Was he moody and in pain?

I remember her first set of tubes she woke up screaming and did not stop for three hours. Scared the living shit out of me. Apparently she does not handle anesthesia well.

Yea, she got RSV as well. Very common...

You will like Dr. Murray. My boy had his tonsils/adnoids and that thingy under the tounge clipped at teh same time. he could not go back to daycare for 10 days afterwards due to infection risk so it was kind of nerve racking to have him home and in pain all day. all you can do is keep rotating the pain meds JUST LIKE THEY TELL YOU TO DO and it won't hurt them as much. If you miss a dose it's hard to get them to take it again.

UPDATE: We went and saw Dr. Murrey @ ENT for Children and i was really impressed with him. He spent a lot of time with me explaining what exactly the goal was and went into details about the surgery.

She came down with a double ear infection a couple of days ago and it apparently started coming out of her eyes. They put her on antibiotics and are still going ahead with the surgery.

Hadley has surgery tommorow to get her second set of tubes and adeniods taken out. I must say I'm really nervous about the anesthesia. This time they are putting her under with a IV instead of Gas. Last time she did not handle it well at all when she woke up.

Are they doing an IV IV, or a rectal IV? When they did surgery on my son they just put a tiny ass tube in rectally (he couldn't even feel it) and pushed the liquid anesthesia on in. It absorbs uber quick and no screaming! LOL

You'll be FINE!!! Nervous tension is normal, afterall this is your baby girl! She is going to look to you as to how she should respond to the doctors, etc so be strong and keep a smile on that face for her!

I know...just easier said then done though LOL. Last time the surgery center's nurse called the next day to check on me and not on Hadley hahah, I was a mess.
