Hey let's medicate everyone. Screw all that bullshit. Everyone here is crazier than me. I guess that makes me normal. It's been two and a half years since my last anxiety attack. I stopped worrying about everything and letting things stress me out. Self medication, just a money scheme for big pharmaceutical companies.

I hold some shares in drug companies so I'm hoping I can stress you assholes out some more.

Mine, however, doesn't revolve around social situations or settings. I don't have what I would call social anxiety. Mine may even be more OCD than anxiety. As I mentioned, when a problem comes up with a piece of equipment, or something goes wrong at the house, I will drive myself crazy trying to find resolution. I'm a solution guy, it's a big part of what I do. Customer presents me with their problem, and I come up with and sell them on a resolution. The shitty part is, I'm afraid this was a behavior I taught myself. When I started out in my career, I had a lot to prove. So I made it a point to explore different possibilities, avenues, etc, to prove my worth. I get a lot of "he's young, doesn't know shit" types upon first glance, until I start talking, asking questions, etc. I pride myself and my career on thinking outside of the box. And like I said, it's a big factor to my success. I pushed myself to be this way, to gain respect, to ge people to look egos my age, etc. Now I'm afraid there is no turning back. Lol.
If you think you have OCD PD talk to your doc about it, self help and behavioral adjustment is more effective than drugs generally. Benzo's and SSRI's can treat the results of anxiety brought on by OCD PD but they won't necessarily treat the underlying cause.

This is exactly my issue. If we go out to eat and there is a lot of people around making noise, babies crying etc I start shaking my feet and start feeling very uncomfortable and light headed. Also when I have to stand in a big line i have to hold on to something to help me balance myself out and not passing out.

But again I play in a band in front of hundreds of people and it doesn't seem to bother me at all, thats what drives my girl crazy!!!

I'm okay in restaurants, bars etc. I'm talking large crowds like full amusement parks, the mall during Christmas, stuff like that.

I don't remember the last time I was legitimately in a mall, but especially not at Christmas.

I had REALLY bad anxiety years ago after a divorce, I have not been the same since. Sure I have my happy moments and they are great. I refuse to use medicine as well, though I used some Xanax when I was really bad and it helped. I mostly just try not to worry about shit as much anymore, as long as I still have the motivation to get up and come to work I'm generally ok. I could also possibly blame it on MMO's too which I have quit. I also don't drink daily, maybe 1-2 a week. I do know that if I do get bad it helps me to know there is medicine out there and I usually get better after those thoughts. I'm still unhappy as fuck though and it's getting worse, but oh well. There are still some rare happy days.
