  • (For the long-readers) It really is becoming an Idiocracy out there....

Some of you probably remember last year....I got into an ATV accident and fucked myself up pretty badly. The ensuing medical bills, insurance claims, etc. were...to put it mildly....a fucking nightmare! I've been fortunate (and very appreciative/aware) to work for a company that has covered 100% of my medical bills for going on 15-years now.....no deductibles, co-pays, etc.

....well, back when we (my wife & I) were going through all the BS that followed $100K+ in medical expenses, the therapy, healing, missed time from work ,etc. everything that came up was pretty much worked out by a phone call or two with most of them here & there. However we had this one set of mongoloids that handled the X-rays the night I arrived in the ER....Radiology Associates of North Texas....they are apparently part of that new shit-bag little hospital at Alliance in Fort Worth. I gave the charge nurse all of my information, insurance, ID, etc. right when I arrived....even though that was the last thing on my mind with an arm that looked like a boomerang. Anyways....we had a couple little hiccups later where we had to (re) verify insurance info, etc. However, these radiology jackasses probably called my house (no kidding here) at least 10 times in the following 2-weeks. Every damned time it was just to reconfirm the points on my insurance card....WTF!?? Anyways...a couple months passed and we quit hearing from them, so I assumed all was good. WRONG! not long after I got a letter in the mail from Down-Syndrome Radiology Ass-Fucks.....you guessed it, a collection letter. In reaction I called them immediately....this time instead of giving them my info again (apparently ABC's are WAY above their education level) I instead told the lady exactly what was happening, and instead got contact info for someone from my insurance company to call them and hold their hand....did exactly that. I called BCBS gave them the history, the stupidity, etc, etc. Gave them the info....they called personally, straightened it all out, and then later called me back to verify....all is finally good!

...So I thought! Fast forward to this week...I decided I am going to try to refinance my house, haven't applied for any credit in a while....the lender comes back and says that my score doesn't look so good b/c I have MULTIPLE delinquent accounts that have been turned over to collection!!!

A little further investigation shows that it's those goddamned same X-ray retards! They not only reported me to collection back last year, but instead of reporting it for just the one bill, they broke that bill out for every individual line item within the bill, and reported those each to Equifax as individual "accounts" that were in collection status!!....so it shows up that I have 4 individual accounts in collection status, at like 6+ months with no payment! What's even more crazy id that we haven't heard shit from them...no letters, no calls, no nothing.

My first call was to BCBS...and indeed, they confirmed that this bill was paid in full last summer, they even have notes on it with the name of the moron that they spoke with. Of course I'm having difficulty reaching anyone with the retard X-ray group....they are so damned stupid that they are trying to refer me to the collection agency they handed this over to, however they can't seem to figure out who that is.

Luckily I also pay for the ARAG legal coverage with my company...so I'm not fucking with this anymore myself...the next call that these idiots are getting will be from an attorney. IMO this is a form of slander....I happen to be someone who has never even had a late payment on anything, yet now I'm sitting here with a credit report that makes me look like the typical welfare Dem.

I don't have to read this to know that society is somewhere between half and full-blown retard.

I feel your pain with no pun intended. I just started back with Fluor who uses CIGNA when a month later my wife went into labor. Great, a child is born! I call benefits and get her added the following Monday. Fast forward a month plus and we find out that the never added her but instead canceled my insurance. Say wha? Canceled it back to two days before Hailey was born. Well that is funny since I pay premiums every week. Now we are strugling with the claims etc ourselves.

The first indication of a problem was when CVS told my wife my 30 day scripts which usually cost me $34 were gonna cost $340 cause our insurance was "Inactive". Called Cigna "no it shows active". Call CVS "no it shows INactive". Come to find out Cigna has two screens, one for the CS Reps and customers and one for the verifications. They updated the first but not the later.

Slowly we are getting checks back though.

I haven't even checked our credit in a few months. It was pertnear perfect or above an 800 at the least. I am sure we took hits to our scores becuase of all the medical bills we are getting.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

What is funny is that anesthesiologist are not on anyone's plan most of the time, Google it. I specifically asked if everything was covered when I had my surgery. Miraculously I got a bill two months after surgery that he was not on plan. His fucking rate was almost twice as much as the actual doctor. I sweet talked a lady at Aetna and advised her of what was going on and she sent it to claims. I was shocked they paid it. Screwed up though I almost never go to the doctor for anything. Maybe five times in the last ten years other then things required or caused by work.

I can't believe these type of assholes can actually make a frivolous report like this and get by with it. The whole time it is their error, yet I'm the one left holding the bag....they've made a clerical error that totally fucked me.... I'm not normally one that will jump on the lawyer bandwagon...however, this is now a matter of principal as far as I'm concerned...

Any way in hell I can make it happen...they WILL be compensating me!

Ironically, when I called their toll free number I get into an automated system...the first option in that system says, "If you are an Attorney, please press 1". Apparently this is a common problem.

Yet we wonder why healthcare is so fucking crooked in this country.....

Have you filed a dispute with the credit agencies yet? Might be something to think about.

Sounds like the medical industry alright. I have to repeatedly fight with the "billing company" that my Dr uses about my deductible every time I go and get a bill 3 months later. Fucking assholes. I'm going to start letting them incur the costs of sending it to collections then email them and get them to fix it every time. I'e already got my house and car, I've got nothing better to do than waste their time and money since they're so interested in wasting mine.

And this is why I never go to the doctor unless it's an absolute emergency. I'm fine paying my ER co-pay once every couple of years or a Doc-in-the-box co-pay every six months or so.

Currently don't have insurance. My son had stitches in early December and I got a bill, started paying it out after speaking with office staff. 2 weeks ago, I get another bill for $1k on top of the negotiated rate. The problem is, you can never get a straight answer in regards to medical bills so it damn near seems that your time, effort, and resources are better spent fighting it.

Yet another reason why not to go to the doctor unless you're dead, dyin', or bleeding in a manner in which you can't control.

Christmas Eve, years back. My youngest required stitches in this forehead, so off to Lakepoint we go. At the end of the visit we asked the young lady at the desk for our total, so that we could pay the entire amount, in full, at that time. Had her write "paid in full" on the receipt.

Fast forward and some asshat that didn't even see our child bills us an additional $800, for what we still don't know. The guy was never in the room, didn't treat our child, didn't do jack squat other than access records of people who were in and billed them. When they couldn't say what services they provided, we told them to get bent and they reported us.

That's fine. Over six years later and our scores are both over 800 so they can kiss my white ass...

They use Radiology Associates at the Harris Occupational Health facility I get sent to annually in FTW for annual physicals through my employer. I haven't heard of any issues so far with them, and I regularly monitor my credit report with Experian.

I don't know how many times I've paid the bill in full before walking out of a doctor's office, only to find a few months later that I have a past due bill in collections for like $8.00. Fucking ridiculous.
