my dad picked up a 99 that was driven by a detective or someone not on patrol. it is a P71 but did not have a light bar, cage, spotlight, push bar or extra electronics inside. it has carpet floor and cloth seats, and the front is a bench seat with fold down armrests.
This is the only way to go. I would never buy one that has seen patrol duty, but I'd buy a command staff's car, or a detective car.
I've personally launched those cars over curbs, rail road tracks, and various other obstacles.
The thought of using one for a daily driver isn't really something I'd reccommend, especially if you are using it to haul family members.
anyone got a link or some more info on the auctions i like to go and just watch lol
I've been hitting a few auctions looking for a cash car for my daughter whom will be driving soon. Mostly chit out there since f'ing cash for clunkers program has killed the good cash car market.
my 2 cents...
I worked as a shop mechanic for Fort Worth city. The cars do get beat on but they also get maintained better than any other car you'll find. Oil changes every 5000 miles and all scheduled maintenances done on time. If I felt inclined Id buy one from a Fort Worth city auction. Stay away from the smaller city auctions though. Smaller cities are pretty laxed on their vehicle maintenance.
The lock button is inside the door jamb on the door. Open the driver door and look at the rear door jamb. Pull the lock out and the inside handle works.
