35 has always sucked in Texas and looks to be keeping its reputation for sucking. What amazes me is 35 is fucked from the North end of the state all the way down to San Antonio

hasnt there been a contract for the last 4 years but it got delayed/frozen because of the recession? and fights over NTTA trying to make most of the expansion toll lanes?

Yeah that. Couple of years back I was headed to austin. I got caught up in a group that was doing 90MPH. We were all cruising along nicely till this guy comes flying up behind us in a black Escalade and proceeded to try and whip in and out of traffic at those speeds. He nearly took the front off from my mustang. Scared the living hell out of me.

Coming back from that trip was a nightmare too. From Round Rock all the way to Waco was pretty much stop and go, crossed over 31 in Waco over to I45 and it was smooth sailing.

The I-35 stretch from Waco to Dallas has had at least one section or another under construction from at least the late 70's until today.

That has been the norm, on every trip I have made on 35. I hate it. Drive 85-90mph riding the car in front of you while someone else is hitched to your back bumper. It is either get run over in the right lane or autobahn the left lane and hope for the best......"white knuckle express"

I think it is most interstate highways at this point. When I made the trip to get fucked over on those heads a while back, from Longview to Canton it was basically the speedometer pegged past 85 the whole way. At least I was making 32 mpg the whole way and did 70 miles in 45 minutes, just keeping up with traffic.
