  • Rechargeable batteries

Do you guys find it is worth buying the more expensive rechargeable batteries over time? As someone with a kid, we are constantly needing batteries for his toys, but it seems like the rechargeable batteries I have just don't last very long. I find myself recharging them constantly.

Are there specific ones that are better than others?

Personal experience, it seems the higher milli-amp per hour batteries take a lot longer to charge correctly and are sensitive to high discharge loads. I'm talking about the 2300 mili-amp AA Energizer batteries compared to the 700 milli-amp HF ones. The higher capacity ones take a special charger or their life is greatly reduced.

Cheap chargers kill all batteries , buy a hobby grade charger and they will last . Check hobby town and charge at 1c .For example, 2300mah charge at 2.3 amps for 1 hr . Make sure its a charger for nicad, nimh ,lipo or whatever your battery's are.

My son's Leap Pad burns through 4 AA's a day. Rechargeables are a lifesaver. I've got a few of quite a few manufactuers

Yes, Sanyo makes great cells and get a balance charger. One that can condition the batteries as it charges them. Yes the charger is more expensive but the batteries last longer (per charge), deliver better voltage and can last fo WAY more charge cycles.

I've bought a couple of battery chargers and rechargeable batteries from the below website. And as others have recommended, Sanyo Enelopes are some of the best rechargeable AA's you can buy.
