My 2 year old daughter walked up to my adult english mastiff and took his chew bone out of his mouth and then climbed up on his back and played horsey. He laid there and waited for her to get bored and give him back his bone. Cats just arent going to be able to compete with that.

I have owned both. I enjoy them both. dogs are messy, cats stink. I had a cat that would play with his balls, lay down on command and come when called. I had a dog who would dry off when told, play with his balls and swim with us (man I miss him). my last cat lived 17 years. I loved her very much. the new one is a pain in the ass but the kid wanted one.
