Arlington Lamar is on lockdown

Lamar High School in Arlington is on lockdown Tuesday after a school resource officer was told there may be a weapon on campus.

According to the Arlington Police Department, at about 8:40 a.m. a student told the officer that another student may have brought a handgun to school.

The school was then placed on lockdown while the claim was investigated.

"As a precaution, we have taken several steps to investigate this matter. We do not have any confirmation at this point that a gun was brought onto the campus and will provide further details as the investigation unfolds. The safety of our students is the highest priority," said Tiara Ellis Richard, with the Arlignton Police Department, in a statement to NBC 5.

Same thing I was thinking. I fully expect that every major high school has had student(s) carrying on campus regularly. Some are just better at keeping the thing concealed and their mouths shut.

Yeah, the middle school my wife used to teach at had a gun threat at least once a year and the cops weren't ever notified. Them again, its a pos school. A kid was found with over 5 grams of weed in her bag and cops.weren't notified then.either.
