  • Stock Traders Come In Here

So I'm thinking about trying to get in to some stock trading. I am still at the very infant stages of this process. I'm trying to learn some of the ins and outs of it and doing some research. So my questions for you all are.

    1. What online trading company are you using and why?

    2. Any good books or sites I could get or go to to read up on trading basics

    3. Any advice for someone just getting started.

    Please discuss.

I'm sure there are several out there, but I use Scottrade. It's simple and inexpensive to use. They have a lot of features and articles through their site and offer free seminars in their offices. I've actually had quite a bit of fun with it and done fairly well.

I did a quick search for best stock trading site and came across this review that had OptionsXpress as their best rated site. Anyone ever heard or used them? Also has anyone had experience using different sites? Why did you leave the one and why do you like the one you are at now?

I use fidelity to trade ad stockcharts.com for charts.
Stockhideout.com is a very good message board. Some of the moderators do live classes during the week and answer questions for hours.
Stay away from Yahoo msg boards, horrible.

Use this to learn on before you "pay" to learn the hard way....

                  The only negative with Scottrade

the only way to add funds is to actually take the money to one of their offices or send a check. I sure wished there was a way to do it over the phone , internet or through a bank quickly.

Be honest, even if it hurts.

I use sharebuilder due to the fact it doesn't require any minimum investments
