3115 curb weight, I weighed my z06 at 3025 with less than 1/4 tank. The 01's should run about even with the new 5.0s.

I know several people who had or still have original 01' Z06's and STOCK they normally run anywhere from mid 12's with great traction to very low 13's if they don't launch well and trap around 110. Then again....I know some people have done heads, cam, exhaust and pulled deep 11's or with spray even high 10's. At that point the axles start breaking.

At that mileage id rather have an 01 anyway. 02-04 I'd be worried about breaking valve springs... 02 especially. Not an issue on the 01

Cars are meant to be driven. That thing is 13 years old; that's less than 12k a year.

True but I do have a 01 bullitt with only 34k miles, never seen rain. But I am sure it might one day.

I ran a 12.5 in my 04 Z06 and I'm no professional drag racer. 1st race ever in the car (I came from a long line of mustangs). Mine is a bit lighter from the factory than this car thou.

83k miles and no issues since I've owned it. Love the C5Z's!

Meh, its not much worse than a 4 valve typically. I've seen some that were so bad that it left a film on the back of the car but GM made it right for those guys for the most part. I'd take that over valve spring issues anyday. My 02 z06 had the issue occur when my friend owned it before me.... not fun.

First thing that car needs is a cam anyway so it should get new springs to match.
