anybody on here teach guitar basics?

im considering giving the guitar another shot. ive never played acoustic before, and I have good rhythm since I play drums and percussion, but I need to learn some basic guitar skills.

fyi im in north richland hills in ft worth/midcities and go to college in Arlington off division and 30. so if you are in deep dallas im prolly not gunna be interested.

for those in the know how much do lessons usually costs for a beginner?

Goodluck. I just started playing in the past 2 weeks or so after a an 8 year leave of absence. I came from an electric guitar and playing tabs to acoustic and chords now. It is a little getting used to but nothing too difficult.

YouTube has an overwhelmingly amount of info, id start there.

I have a friend over there (Ft. Worth) who was giving lessons at one time. I beleive he is back on the road with Stoney Larue. I will find out for you. His name is Rodney Pyeatt. One of the best guitarists I worked with while running sound.

I go to a small one, our guy lives in Saginaw but I guess in the end it may be worth the drive. I was just wondering if someone local gave lessons on here. and im not going to be a pastor or worship leader, I plan on starting my own grassroots community project so to speak

Since you're into the religion thing recently, you might check with your church (depending on where you go).. I know that the church my son goes to has groups that do guitar lessons for free in the guise of learning to play for singing hymns and such. He is pretty good, especially with all of the basic chords.

Doesn't bother me, post away. I though the only reason to go to semen school was to be a pastor.
