I've never had the flu. But iv'e been getting mandatory flu shots for 11 years.
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

I fought it out for four days then finally went to the docs on Monday.

Tussinex and Tamiflu... good as new.

Never had the flu or a flu shot, I do however seem to end up with upper respiratory crap every winter with a bronchitis every 5 years or so. I went to the doc Tuesday with congestion and a sore throat, got a Z pack and almost back to normal today.

It's free for those of us with Obamacare cadillac health plans.

I'm down with the sickness as well.... I was tested for the flu and they told me it was negative but they guessed that I have a URI.
                What I'm feeling..
                -painful ears
                -coughing
                -weak/aching body
                -shakes
                -chills & fever
                -Rapid heart beat
                -drainage

I went to work all this week except today, I had no energy.. I'm usually good at sucking it up but not this time.

Definitely upper respiratory. I get that shit fall & spring from allergies & germy middle schoolers. It'll drain your energy for sure. They usually give me a pretty strong antibiotic & breathing treatments. Yack! get lots of sleep it usually helps.

I love that the Army requires us to get a flu shot, the same live flu shot you get if you live in the States, even though we are in Afghanistan and this shit is completely different strains.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Utilize the web check in on the Care Now website if at all possible. You can check in and be miserable at the place of your choosing until they call you to come in. I originally went to the Minute Clinic by my house only to find out that they were not taking new patients. Care Now was the next closest that I knew of and I had to wait over 2 hours before they saw me.

Monday - woke up sore throat and coughing, felt ok though
Tuesday - worse sore throat, more coughing, felt ok for the most part
Tuesday afternoon - chills set in at noon, 105 fever by time they finally fit me in at 6:15
I know that you are probably miserable at work too. Sorry to hear.

Care Now is great, but I am biased since my wife works for them.

I'm temporarily stuck out here in California and the flu is going around here too. It came in about two weeks after the outbreak in Dallas started. People at work were dropping left and right. So far i've managed to avoid it.

My daughter was here with us in Cali from college over the winter break and she made a side trip to Dallas to see friends and brought the flu back with her. Tamiflu is starting to get hard to find out here but we did manage to locate some and that fixed her right up.

Tamiflu prevents binding of virus to cells so it will prevent you from getting it (while taking it) if you are exposed to the flu. The very young and very old are the ones that this disease causes the most problems in.

Yes, vitamin C and zinc can help lessen your symptoms if you take them right away.
