also respectfully disagree. if a man wants to try and change for the better i wish him all the best. i can also appreciate when someone will accept help from a higher power they believe in. whatever it may be.

Taking quotes from your other recent thread also:

This attitude regarding the perceived “overnight” change in your posting:

There is a theological immaturity that can come along with a fervent rebirth in Christ. Don’t let the excitement and desire to minister overshadow the growth, learning, and personal betterment opportunities that lie in front of you. Humility is a wonderful thing.

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

                  James 3

                  Taming the Tongue

1 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2 We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.

3 When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4 Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5 Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

7 All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

9 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. 11 Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? 12 My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

                  Two Kinds of Wisdom

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

You’re zealous and ambitious, which are not necessarily bad things… but if you are serious about your journey then your brothers and sisters are also expected to hold you accountable for your words and actions.
Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him,

                  Luke 17:3

Sean has a point. My biological father was the same way. He "found God" in prison and adopted the mantra, "Only my God can judge me." At his funeral, the minister pulled me aside and said that Mike may have found God, but he never learned accountability and never once took responsibility for the position he was in. There's a reason Mike died alone and wasn't found for over a week--he was a shitty person who used God as a crutch, and at the end of the day, no one wanted to be bothered by his pious bullshit. I wouldn't be surprised if Steve winds up with the same fate.

Except he's not trying to change for the better. It's the same old Steve, with new and improved kung fu grip. I'm not even going to get into accepting help from a higher power. That's another conversation for another time.

thats not for me to call. and as for the higher power, you never have and never will see or hear of me trying to convince someone what to believe. i know what works for me and mine, i also respect and hope you know what works for you and yours.

He's not trying. He's spewing the same mess he's always spewed, followed by "You can't judge me!" He's making a complete and total mockery of actual Christians.

I'm sure the seminary he's going to would just love to see some of the comments he's made today' specifically the ones where he's whining about people judging him, while simultaneously calling a woman he knows nothing about a whore. I bet that would go over real well.
