so laziness on your part is their fault...? If the box is full and isn't getting emptied, they have to assume you moved or are dead. Returning to sender is the presumptive service to let people trying to contact you know you can't be contacted by mail. Just sayin'. Forward mail or have someone pick up your mail.... Not defending them but what is someone supposed to do without direction?

This time no note, nothing held. How's that for consistency? There's a reason that FedEx and UPS exist and aren't bleeding billions of dollars a year.

I am at two weeks today and still waiting for a First Class envelope to arrive to the house that I shipped from an USPS APO address here in Afghanistan. Normally wouldn't worry but it is documents for a passport for the little one and we are running out of time to get it done.

Consider getting a PO box if you travel a lot. Unlike a residential mail box, once your PO box is full the mail will be held onsite until you pick it up since the USPS considers it to be an active address for the duration of your rental term.

When you go in, make sure to go to a Main Post office, not a city substation and ask for the Postmaster to help you. Try a smaller town as well. You will get the best info on how to make sure it's done properly.

Yeah, I go to the main one and denton and it still never gets accomplished appropriately. Turns into a 2 day hassle.

Denton is a little big. Might try Sanger or one of the smaller PO's with less people involved. Large offices tend to have a lot of people who don't want to put forth any effort, especially when it comes to stuff like shipping weapons. Small towns are used to it as they ship chickens and out of the ordinary stuff all the time. Also more likely to be dealing with someone comfortable with fire arms.

My mailbox is some kid that literally races around our subdivision trying to beat his best times for mail delivery. Therefore, you are lucky if you get the right mail to you, the mailbox closed, all of your mail or anything you might be sending. Also, you have absolutely no chance of him getting out of his van to deliver anything that is scheduled for delivery/requiring signature. He will just say you weren't available and leave the card. Even when you watch him do it.

It is entertaining to watch though sometimes.

Being retired and as many retired folks do, we know usually when the mail is delivered each day and if a signature is required, I am waiting to sign and make the mailman's job as easy as possible. I have seen them come up to the mailbox (it is out on the street about 100 feet from the front door) and quickly toss the mail and the notice in the box and speed off. Nothing worse than having to trudge to the main post office to wait in line to pick up a package.

No doubt! I office from my home quite a bit, so I was definitely home and expecting the package. I didn't receive anything other than the card the first time, however it mentioned they would try for delivery again the next day. So, I was sitting on my balcony about the time that I could expect him and he literally was driving about 30-40 MPH between each house, throwing mail and going to the next one. I, of course, jump in my car and chase him down and asked him what the hell? He just said that there are a lot of time pressures for mailmen and that my package could be picked up at the office. It was a pretty entertaining conversation..

I Ordered a couple HID ballast off ebay and on USPS website it showed "delivered" so I went to the post office and asked about it and the lady told me "well what do you want me to do about it" so I just left. 2 Days later I showed up and asked for the deliver driver and she told me "well you don't get a lot of mail to your address so I was waiting for to deliver it". Fucking ass holes.
