I work at walnut hill/audelia....criminal activity has seen to be picking up lately. 3 employees cars have been broken into within the last month or so. I see crackheads walking around all the time mainly coming from some apts. across the street on audelia side. sad thing is there is a DPD substation not too far away and i always see cop cars coming and going, they just never seem to be around when needed.

That's the great thing about Dallas...NOT! There are million dollar houses within a mile of the appartments you're talking about. Regardless of whether you call it eclectic or diversity, it sucks for the people that have the stuff the have-nots want to steal.

I second the having a dog in the house. Someone tried to deglaze our backdoor which is basicallly all glass but never came in. I'm assuming its because our 95lb Pitt mix asked what the Fuck they wanted. That's the only trouble we've had & we're on Irving. Granted its north Irving, but still...

I agree with Kim. Large dogs really are the best method of home protection. Nobody wants to get bit. An you almost never hear of someone breaking in, shooting the dog, and making it out.

Me too. My office is just north of Greenville Ave. & Royal. The building is set back from Greenville and backs up to a creek, so it's pretty dark once the sun goes down. This place has been broken into several times in the 15 years I've been here. Unfortunate for them, we have a really good alarm system and there really isn't anything of any significant value other than some old computers. I doubt they want our case files.

That area has always been bad. I used to cut off peoples' power in that area, and most were getting guberment cheese to pay their bill. They still stole it.
