Rented a 2012 cc silverado 2500 hd duramax 4x4 from capps with 200 miles on it. It pulled those colorado mtns like a mofo with 12k behind like it wasnt even there. It also did quite well on half of the alpine loop.

I bet you own a lot of clothes with rhinestones, large elaborate crosses, and other gay items that spurred from Ed hardy and affliction.

I've rented fullsize 4x4 SUV's from Avis on numerous occasions. One thing you may think about....take one of your vehicles out a little closer, like New Mexico or Southern Colorado, rent from there and use their vehicle up that way only instead of the whole trip. This should save you some rental time, and you are more apt to find a 4x4 up that way too. A lot of these places will let you leave your car parked in their lot as well....maybe even covered if they have the space.

              Just a thought.

Yeah, depending on where you are going in CO, there are tons of places that rent 4 door Jeeps, some are even already lifted.

Good advice, i haven't thought of that one. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

I know a few of the car rental places have them (4X4's) but none of them will reserve one, they will only guarantee a full size SUV. It's luck of the draw if you get 4WD or not. Anyways, thanks for most of yous guys's input.

One thing ill add. Call them and make sure the person specifically holds the keys for you. I did this in Amarillo a few years ago and it works but the newb employee almost rented my jeep out an hour before I got there.

The area we go to I have.. And 4x4 quads. Lake City, Ouray and Silverton Area in SW CO.

Here is a quick google for a place in Lake City. A lot of people go up there and stay in cabins or the small hotels, and just rent toys when they want to head up the mountain.
