They tried this on my 02 a few years ago as well. I was at a club and I must have walked out on them because I didn't notice it till the next day and nothing was missing in my truck.

Brooks, whereabouts in White Settlement? I had someone come bang on the door late last night and once I opened it no one was there and I've got a white '08.

Sux, but an alarm is needed for a truck like that.

But that bitch has been parted out by now

I saw a story on Facebook not long ago, that said that they do this with the sole purpose of looking at the registration/insurance info, to find out where the car or truck owner lives, to come back and steal it from the residence, rather than a busy parking lot.

They specifically go to the passenger side so that you DON'T notice, to give them time to come get it. It's the same reason that they don't take anything from the vehicle, as not to arouse suspicion.

I'm guessing that you park in the garage, or in an otherwise inconvenient area, so they never got the chance to come get it.

Let's see, 10 years old, good suspension and good payload capacity. It is probably headed to Mexico. Probobly will end up in a Towing yard down there acruing money by the day when they are finished using it.

seems like there is an F-250 stolen out of the parking lot at my work every month.

A good security system is a must!

Seats, stereo, tailgate, wheels/tires, grill/headlights, tailights, and any performance parts will be missing when they find it.

Certainly won't fit in a standard garage. My old 2wd CC 3/4 ton Chevy was a 1/2" too tall. Length wise, I'd have had to remove all the shelves at the front, and still only had a couple inches to spare. After going back to a stock tire size to correct the height issue. And my garage is oversized.

They did this exact same thing to me except with things missing at first. I was at a golden corral and came back and saw my center console lid closed but not all the way and my cassette and cd holder on my passenger seat. Noticed My Nikon DSLR was stolen and i was pissed. About a week later, I jump in my truck and when i go to put the key in i notice that my whole switch is broken off. Someone must have scared them away because all i did was put the broken piece back in and it turned on with no key! My truck does have PATS though so i cam confused as to how it worked without the key. I do however have remote start so maybe they bypass it? I noticed a hole on my passenger side door keyhole as well. (04 Harley F-250)

Which is why I added "or in an otherwise inconvenient area."
