Same thing happened to a buddy of mine awhile back. We found out they tend to take the vehicle to a busy parking lot (walmart mostly) and let it sit to see if it has lojack or another tracking software on it. If it's still there a day later they take it. Luckily my buddy got his back when an officer was randomly running plates at walmart and his plate was reported stolen. He had it back within 24 hours of it being stolen.

Friend of mine had his Dodge 2500 stolen. It was found a few months later down in Mexico. When they found it, it was all beat to shit and the rear seats were gone. He was told this is fairly common for these trucks to get stolen for drug/alien smuggling purposes.

They specifically go to the passenger side so that you DON'T notice, to give them time to come get it. It's the same reason that they don't take anything from the vehicle, as not to arouse suspicion.

I'm guessing that you park in the garage, or in an otherwise inconvenient area, so they never got the chance to come get it.
Who knows. I've never had any problems at my current residence in 13 years. My truck has been broken into 3 or 4 times but it's always when I go out. Finally stopped driving it when I go out unless I can keep an eye on it. Damn Alpine DVD player is to easy to steal in these trucks

Hate to hear that Brooks. One of my best friends is a FTW Police Sgt in the Zero Tolerance unit, and he has actually been telling me about these couple guys they've been trying to catch for literally about 6-8 months now....couple car thieves, and all they steal are 6.0 era PSD's. They suspect that they are somehow affiliated with a shop out there somewhere that sells/installs the engines/running gear, but they haven't pin pointed the front end of the deal yet. Apparently they are some super drivers too....they've been chased a few times and lost the cops every time. He was telling me about one night a couple months ago when he chased them....was chasing the stolen truck and the dude lead him up onto a fwy entrance ramp, the type where it's an actual ramp, one lane, with walls on both sides...he said the dude all-of-a-sudden hits the parking brake, spins this big assed truck sideways to the right, blocking the ramp, then he jumps out on foot and starts running down the ramp.....my buddy jumped out of his police car and pursued him on foot.....then sees another truck backing up the ramp ahead...the dude jumped in the back of that truck and they took off! By this time Cory is way away from his patrol car, and it's blocked by the stolen truck anyway....so they made the get-a-way again. Apparently they are some slick fuckers.

He said the only ironic thing is that none of these trucks have shown back up, so they're not sure what they are doing with the bodies/chasis, but they do think the trucks are being stolen just for the engines....especially b/c there is still a big demand for 6.0's out there. The only ones they've recovered are a couple like the one in the chase above.

Sounds like they should put together some sort of bait truck program.

                  Once again, fuck theives.

The other end of my street. Friend of mine had his stolen from his driveway in Arlington a few months ago. They found his work bags in Dallas. Not a peep about his truck. These guys are good so as much as I hate to say it, it probably won't be found. They are tearing it up on those F-250's.

That shit is going to Mexico. They find 3/4 - 1 ton trucks dumped in the river or broke down in the desert daily.

If you watch border wars on tv you will always see smugglers ditching f250s and other diesels jn the rivers when being chased.

Apparently a huge issue. If you do a quick google search, its mostly the 6.0's too.

I don't know about the dew, the messed up keyhole or anything other than what I was told.

Rest assured, the truck is gone and on it's way to who knows where or bieng torn apart.

I can't beleive how lucky the theives are - there's a cop living on that street, the majority of the neighbors are packing and most of them are all nighters.
