So you are saying that in Texas it is illegal to track down and confront someone who has stolen your property so you can get it back? Please quote me the statute of Texas law that explains this.

Even in Texas the situation doesn't warrant using deadly force, the guy found a phone and kept it, he didn't force entry anywhere, or even pick-pocket. Factor in that the owner of the phone lured him over under false pretense, and introducing a firearm would cause all sorts of grief if the "perp" freaked out and called the cops.

Don't get me wrong, the guy is a scumbag for keeping the phone that he found, but he isn't some dangerous criminal. All of this gun talk is laughable.

In before the "commiefornia lib mentality" comments, I would have said the same thing 10 years ago.
With the information on an iPhone now days and the fact that this douche was posting as the gentleman in order to lure young ladies to a meeting, he was engaging in identity theft. We all know my solution to that.

A friend of mine has been on match.com for a while and says that he'll end up sleeping with the chick on the first date more often than not. While I haven't signed up for one yet, I'm becoming less and less against it.

It's illegal to pose on the internet as someone else in Texas. Not positive but was thinking its a felony I've never used or seen someone booked on it but know its on the books.. And it would have at the very least be agg assault possibly agg robbery. He wasn't in posession of stolen property he was in possession of abandoned property. All of this is a stretch but legally how it is.
