FWIW I've lended vehicles, job leads, thousands of dollars, etc to family members when they've "needed it", nothing good has come from any of it, and I don't think I've got a thank you ever. In return I've got maybe $400 back, a few damaged vehicles, and I'm still the "instigator" of arguments according to some of my family. I can't win. It's no wonder why I spent Christmas on the beach in California with no family!!!
people who are all "thas yo' blood!!! family first!!" are probably the ones getting the handouts, not giving them

The fact that the sister and the mom are telling you to "fuck off" tells me all I need to know about this situation.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

Here are some facts based on what little you mentioned : If the driver had permission and a valid license, you will get paid. If the driver has their own insurance on their own vehicle, that too could pay your loss. If anything you stand a better chance of getting paid, than not.Originally posted by VertnutI'd run my junk through a waffle iron, if it makes you more "comfortable". LOL!

As a general rule I don't lend things, especially vehicles to people who
A. Don't have the money to fix/replace it if something happens
or
B. Would try and find a way out of fixing/replacing it.
By the same token I really don't like borrowing things from people, especially when something could happen to it that would be out of my control like another car crashing into it.
