FWIW I've lended vehicles, job leads, thousands of dollars, etc to family members when they've "needed it", nothing good has come from any of it, and I don't think I've got a thank you ever. In return I've got maybe $400 back, a few damaged vehicles, and I'm still the "instigator" of arguments according to some of my family. I can't win. It's no wonder why I spent Christmas on the beach in California with no family!!!
      exactly!!!!

people who are all "thas yo' blood!!! family first!!" are probably the ones getting the handouts, not giving them

You know that's a really mean thing to say, now that he has a beautiful baby boy and is trying to turn his life around. You and his brother are just horrible, horrible people.

              thanks Aaron!!!

              • The fact that the sister and the mom are telling you to "fuck off" tells me all I need to know about this situation.

                    • The fact that your mom doesn't want to let her borrow her car says everything, she realizes that your sis is a liability too.

Let her get pissed, she's just being an irrational female.

He was completely inaccurate with his statement.

Here are some facts based on what little you mentioned : If the driver had permission and a valid license, you will get paid. If the driver has their own insurance on their own vehicle, that too could pay your loss. If anything you stand a better chance of getting paid, than not.

If that guy had his own insurance, pops policy wouldn't have HAD to pay for anything. The only reason pops ended up paying for it, was more than likely because junior didn't have his own insurance elsewhere.

                              • As a general rule I don't lend things, especially vehicles to people who

                                A. Don't have the money to fix/replace it if something happens

                                or

                                B. Would try and find a way out of fixing/replacing it.

By the same token I really don't like borrowing things from people, especially when something could happen to it that would be out of my control like another car crashing into it.
