Just curious, was your wife upset with your behavior? Since this was your first Christmas with them, might have left a bad impression and hurt some feelings. Remember, it's the season for giving, and making others happy. Sounds like you might have been a little selfish, IMO.

I was at thr g/f's family's house and they are very low key. We had a quiet dinner and chit chatted. We were there for about 2 hours. Then we went to my family's party.

You know Mexican parties. Alcohol, music, loud, singing, dancing, and karaoke-ing. It's funny how everyone that participated in the white elephant gift exchange brought alcohol, or something to mix alcohol with. We know each other too well.

The g/f was like "Wow, you guys know how to party". Granted we were probably those neighbors that you want to hurry up and shut up and hope for their party to end. But it was Christmas and the neighbors were cool about it.

I'm in Calgary, spending two weeks with my in-laws. No complaints here, other than the shitty weather.

No complaints on this end. Went to the in-laws after opening gifts from Santa at our house. My in-laws are great, instead of gifts this year I get $2500 cash in a Christmas card. Fucking awesome!

Good advise bcoop. I will admit I was an ass the first night, and getting 4 hours of sleep and being hung over on Christmas was rough. But I have warmed up to the family and did have fun.

UserX-my wife and her family didn't mind because they know that they are loud and it can be crazy. My wife was happy to have me there, I got back from a deployment 2 weeks ago, so maybe I am still adjusting.

Spent Saturday with the future fatherinlaws family which was mainly spent drinking with a bunch of rednecks. Spent Xmas day with future mother in laws family which was spent mainly drinking with my future father law and her cousin's husband in the garage. Pretty good Xmas with inlaws, sorry about your bad luck.
