Wifey was a long time dispatcher for many years. She got sucked into thinking it was good money and interesting when she was young, kinda what I thought about being a manager at Minyards. One day I asked her what she would like to do in life and she said since she was a kid she wanted to be an athletic trainer. I said f it get a part time job to cover gas and books and I will cover the rest. She now realizes what its like to love a job. She has about one year left and loves every minute of it. She told me she will never work again in her life because she doesnt think of her career choice as work at all. Same way with becoming a cop. I worked for Minyards for 12 years and in the end hated every minute of it. On a whim a guy hired me to do sales and even though that was a great job that I was very good at the money was never there. Then I thought hmmmm I have always wanted to be a cop. Got my fat ass in shape, took the test, and never looked back. Great benefits, very interesting, and no day is ever the same. I have a blast every day even though my city can be a beating at times.
