Things can change quickly. Before the advent of digital cameras, everyone had to have their film developed. My idea was to open a one-hour MotoFoto with a whore house upstairs. You know, give they guy something to do while his film is being processed.

I'm pretty much doing what I want to do in two areas. At least I enjoy them both.

The first is buying real estate, even though I am doing it for someone else. I buy commercial real estate for a fund. Eventuatlly I'll start my own shop with some friends and we'll make money for ourselves rather than for someone else. Right now the money is good enough to feel good about but I'd like to be super wealthy one day and the only way to do that is to work for yourself.

My other thing is investing, I enjoy that as well. It is very time consuming to educate yourself on this subject but it is something that will eventually pay off quite well if you stick with it. The job I have allows me time to do this as much as I want.

There is a lot to be said for enjoying what you do. Sometimes I don't want to come to work, not because I don't want to do what I do but because of the bullshit I have to put up with when I get here. Things like office politics get really old. I see going out on my own as a way to get rid of that aspect of it.

It's entirely possible to have an entirely remote team and function like you were in the office.

            - None / less office politics
            - Save money on renting an office
            - More hours from your employees
            - Save money on gas
            - Eat home cooked food for every meal

The only thing I wish for my team is that we would be able to get together for face to face meetings everyone once in a while.

Meh, I can't work from home. When I am at home I relax.

Hey! Don't be involving me in his shit. I plan on divorcing him, marrying wealthy, divorcing shortly afterwards and coming back to him so we can live the rest of our lives on a beach somewhere with Paco bringing me drinks with pretty umbrellas in it.

                      Same boat.

My problem is I have endless resources and still dont know what I want to do. Long term it's real estate, but not right now.

I don't love my job and I don't hate it. It pays well and gives me the opertunity to have my wife not work and raise our kids. I get to travel and come and go as I please. All in all I really don't have to report to anyone as long as everything is going well and we are making money. My dream job would be on a golf course 8 hours a day 7 days a week, problem is I'm just not that good of a golfer yet. I still have 15 years to make the cut and get my card. Can only keep trying.
I think his point is that the fish got low balled, fucked in the catfish asshole and you paid half price. The worst part was the fish explaining to his fish friends why his asshole smelled like redneck

I have what i think is a good eye for this. For example i picked up 2 suits for 15 bucks each yesterday. one is a brooks brothers "golden fleece", and the other is a hart schaffner & marx "gold trumpeter". should be able to get at least 300 for the pair maybe more. also found a like new pair of cole haan sneakers for 6 bucks i should get 50 for. Considering i have about 150 things right now for sale that i will at least double my money on, hopefully ill do ok.

Man I am right there too! I've been laid off (multiple times), ran a business with my in laws that didn't make it, and now I have a dead end, no paying job, working for the state. I got a book called "48 Days To The Work You Love" by Dan Miller. It's all about using your gifts and talents to do something trully fullfilling, not just something that is "in demand" right now. I haven't totally figured out what I want to do yet though.

Actually what I think I would really like to do is own a full service gas station. It sounds crazy, but I think I'd love it! It'd have a full convience store inside and couple of bays to do maintenance on customers cars. Ofcourse I'd pump their gas, check the oil, tire pressures, clean windshield, etc. I really liked dealing with my customers when we had our feed store which is why the full service idea really appeals to me. It would probably need to be in a small town setting with an older population. I think the older generations would appreciate the full service more.

I also like showing people at work how easy it is to work on your own cars too! Teaching them the stuff I know really makes me happy. So I have also thought about teaching a highschool shop class too. I'll figure it out someday though! LOL

In February I got promoted into a safety role for our company. I actually find it interesting and enjoy doing my job and the parts of it. I decided to start school to get my Bachelors in Occupational Safety and Health with a Concentration in Fire Science. I think my daughter was my key for motivation and luck in landing a role with my company. Since then, I have completed my OSHA 10 & 30 Hour Certification, will have my Associates in April and also completed 4 other safety related certifications. Not sure how I did it working full-time, and being a single mom but I have managed. I also managed to be on the Honors list for 2010.

My suggestion is do something that motivates you. One reason why I like this field so much is because you don't see many women in it. It drives me to prove that a woman is just as capable as a man to do these kinds of jobs.

My job is relocating by May and i will be without a job, that is also helping me to kick it in gear.
                                See you later...
