On Sunday afternoon I'm working an OT shift and I get on I20 eastbound at James when I saw a grey Mustang doing around 110 go by and slam on his brakes because all 4 lanes were occupied. He worked his way around and took off. I checked him on radar at 102 in a 60. I caught up to him and stopped him, he had been drinking, and had his wife riding shotgun and 2 kids under 10 in the back seat...
Today on the way to Ennis at the 287/Business 287 split I witnessed a guy in a newer Dodge PU sideswipe a small white 4 door. The guy over corrected, went to he median, and crossed over into the inside shoulder of the oncoming lanes. He then pulled back across the median and kept going. I called EPD and they stopped him just before he got to I45. He had 2 previous DWLI and no insurance. He got charged with DWLI Enhanced and Failure to Stop and Render Aid. The poor woman he hit was on her way to Houston to see her son for Christmas and her car was totally disabled. The EPD contacted a Chaplin who made arrangements for her to get to her destintion.
On the way back from Ennis, two cars passed me at about 80. When the second car passed, he gunned it and cut in front of me to pass the guy that was in front of him, and he almost rear ended the car that he didn't see that was in front of me. He got finally got around the group and last I saw he was in excess of 90 mph in the wind/snow.
I just don't get people, but thanks for the job security.
