  • Unfortunate Christmas accident

About 6 hours ago now, a friend of mine got in a pretty bad wreck. He was leaving a family Christmas-eve gathering with his cousin, giving him a ride in his '11 mustang. Unfortunately, a truck was too far in the opposing lane, so my friend had to veer off of the road traveling about 150mph in order to avoid a bad collision.
His car took out 4 8-9inch diameter cedar trees along with 5-6 metal tee posts.
After the car came to a halt, him and his cousin had rolled several times and had to be care-flighted to the Plano hospital

I now know that they are alive, but I do not know their condition. This kid is 22 years old and is a really good guy. It's pretty terrible this happened to him, especially around this time of year. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

So he was going 150mph, on a road without a center lane or divider, next to oncoming traffic? If so, he's damn lucky that he didn't take out a family heading to Christmas eve dinner, or healing would be the least of his worries.

I believe he just said what most of us were thinking. I just tossed in my polite comment rather than giving my opinion on the decision that was made.

I am Aware, but id still rather pray for them at this point than drive to plano hospital and point fingers. hopefully they will live to learn the lesson

I hope so too. And be thankful that no one else was affected by their joy ride.

Steve, im going out of my way to respect your new lifestyle, but according to the op they were doing 150 and crashed. And like Aaron said, if they had wrecked into a family their injuries would be the least of their concerns. I don't really see any finger pointing when he's must making a statement based on the events as they were presented to us.

I just stated the facts, he IS lucky that no one else was involved, and it still could get messy depending on the severity of his cousin's injuries.

I've done my share of dumb things, including speeding at 150mph+ on a public road, and I do hope that they make a full recovery, but the story as stated was dumb by a factor of 10.

im just reading between the lines man, but if you want to bring my spiritual beliefs into this and hijack a thread that originally only asked for prayers, be my guest.

We've all made stupid decisions in our lives, sometimes there are no consequences, other times tragic things can happen. Hopefully your fiends pull though, they have my prayers...

I'm drunk and still managing to comprehend what he's saying better than you, that's not spiritual, it's fucking witchcraft!
