Two birds with one stone - War vets and schools

There are several stories out there saying there are 900,000+ vets without jobs right now. Children are our future so we need to protect them. Some people have suggested teachers and principals with guns, I am fine with that as long as they are trained but I would rather have them focus on improving education. But why not hire war vets with combat experience and no mental issues to protect schools?

The White House has stated several times they are looking for ways to get vets jobs when they come back. Why not knock out 2 birds with 1 stone? We trust these people to protect our country, let them protect our future.

Because guns are icky and you never know when one will jump out of it's owners hands and go all "bullet hose" on some innocent people.

In! I know I'd feel much safer with a couple of soldiers on campus. Plus I bet the kids wouldn't act like such jackasses. Lol
